Canopy tells the story of an isolated woman, born in the forest and breast-fed to maturity. This cuts her off from her father and leaves her vulnerable to emotional growth and sexual awareness. When the time comes to "leave the nest", Canopy is taken into the forest and left there to survive and thrive on her own.
