About
The O'Dea family is said to descend from Milesius who's ancestors are said to have come from Scythia by way of Egypt. They settled in Spain and from there sailed to Ireland. Three sons of Milesius sailed to Ireland and settled there. Clan O'Dea descends from Heber, one of the three sons of Milesius. Members of the clan settled in Dysert, County Clare where they ruled for a number of years. Descendants now live throughout Ireland and in other parts of the world.
