About

Keen to make a new start in life and having no family, Mary Hinton is persuaded by Duret Noyden to move to Guernsey to live with his grandmother. She is less sure that she wants to marry him, although she reluctantly agrees to become engaged. Shortly after her arrival, Mary meets handsome Victor le Page, and although they are both instantly attracted to each other, fate plays a cruel hand in keeping them apart. The stage is set for turbulent times as the world heads into the Second World War and the German occupation of their beloved island.
