About

It's the early 1980s in Sarasota, Florida, and 17-year-old Buzz, his 15-year-old sister, Sissy, and their fellow punk friends Dave and Albino are "gagging on life, trying to wash it away with cheap beer." When they're not getting wasted, they're hating school, working part-time jobs at Pizza Hut, listening to "alternative" music, popping zits, making fun of authority, and, well, being teenagers. Many of the situations in Sheppard's loosely linked, semiautobiographical stories are familiar.
