The purpose of this book is to serve as a user's guide to the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi and plants ("Code"), specifically the Melbourne Code. The title was formally changed at the XVIII International Botanical Congress in Melbourne in 2011, whereas previously it was the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature, or ICBN.
